The outdoor installation was inspired by memories of the artist’s childhood in Cameroon where numerous plastic buckets and bowls littered the banks of the few rivers early each morning as everyone fetched water for their daily needs. A series of talks accompanying this installation were programmed as part of the Global Voices Programme at the Festival: Border-Crossing in Contemporary Art : Marcus Verhagen a London-based lecturer and critic, looks at efforts by artists to examine border-crossing at a time when international travel is increasingly commonplace for some and perilous for others Mapping the Sonic: A presentation of sound art from Africa and the Diaspora with Christine Eyene, curator of ‘All Of Us Have A Sense Of Rhythm’ at David Roberts Art Foundation, London.
